T.Loop's Data Energy Center® Facilitates CapMan Real Estate's 72% GHG Emission Reduction Goal by 2032

In October 2022, T.Loop and CapMan Real Estate joined forces to bring to life their vision of T.Loop’s first Data Energy Center® in The Factory, situated in Häggvik just outside Stockholm. At the beginning of DecemberThis week marks the exciting launch of the world's pioneering Data Energy Center® took place, a step forward towards achieving CapMan Real Estate's ambitious target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 72 % by 2032.

T.Loop is a Data Energy Center® operator with the intent to fundamentally change the data center industry's standards for circular energy flows. This initiative aims not only to reduce the data center's climate impact but also to make them climate-positive by reusing the excess heat from the servers and the reserve capacity.

The Data Energy Center® is the first of its kind in the world, utilizing immersion cooling to heat a commercial building. This cutting-edge technique involves submerging computer components in a thermally conductive and dielectric liquid, efficiently cooling servers and transferring heat directly from the source to the liquid. The surplus heat generated is then repurposed to heat buildings, support district heating, and contribute to grid-balancing services.

Situated in the basement of the iconic "The Factory" building in Häggvik, Stockholm, T.Loop's first 0.2 MW Data Energy Center® is at the forefront of technological advancement. Specifically designed to accommodate Edge, AI, and HPC workloads, this state-of-the-art facility provides a secure and robust platform, meeting the escalating capacity demands of these cutting-edge technologies.

“We are glad to see our tenant T.Loop’s pioneering Data Energy Center® start operations in our asset The Factory. At CapMan Real Estate we collaborate with forward looking partners, who support us in our vision to create human centric real estate with a net positive environmental impact. T.Loop’s project and technical solutions are the type of innovations we need as an industry to transition towards more sustainable ways of operating”, shares Magnus Berglund, Partner and Head of CapMan Real Estate Sweden and Norway.

“The real estate industry is facing a gigantic change, just like the data center industry. Together with CapMan we have shown that when these two sectors come together to realize the circular energy flows enabled by excess heat and infrastructure capacity from the Data Energy Center®, a big contribution to the green energy transition can be done”, says Staffan Stymne, CEO and founder T.Loop
