T.Loop and Atrium Ljungberg Sign Agreement for Operation Management of Palmfelt Data Center

Atrium Ljungberg plays a key role in the development of the Slakthusområdet district in Stockholm. The area, with a history spanning over a century as a central hub for Stockholm's food production, is undergoing a significant transformation into new meeting places, cultural experiences, workplaces, and housing.

As part of Atrium Ljungberg's initiatives in the area, T.Loop has been entrusted as a partner to handle the operation management and development of the data center at Palmfelt Center. The agreement was signed on August 25th, and the transition process has commenced. T.Loop's objective is to provide the best customer service through its control of the data center. The initial feedback from customers has been very positive.

“We see great potential in the data center, which is considered a Tier 3 compliant data center with high operational reliability. Moreover, the physical security is strong, enabling the accommodation of IT customers with high protection requirements,” says Johan Hedman, Head of Operations at T.Loop. “We have a very good collaboration with Atrium Ljungberg's staff, and we look forward to being part of the ongoing development of the area.”

T.Loop has quickly established itself as an attractive colocation provider with its circular Data Energy Center® concept. This concept means that the excess heat from the data center's servers is recovered and used as heating for the building where the data center is located. T.Loop employs modern cooling techniques to reduce the power consumption of the data center and uses the data center’s backup capacity, in the form of batteries, to support the power grid through so-called grid balancing. The company opened its first Data Energy Center® in Häggvik in December 2023, and the data center at Palmfelt Center will be the company's third data center in Stockholm.

“There is great potential for data center operations in the area, and we are pleased with the progress we are making together with T.Loop in the effective management of Palmfelt Center,” says Åke Reichard, Property Manager for the Slakthusområdet property area. “We see a need for computing power in the area and welcome that T.Loop, through its concept, can contribute to the property achieving both a more cost-effective energy classification and a reduced climate footprint.”
